Approach to Teaching

"I always have an interest in numbers and enjoy mathematics. I am rather quick with numbers and basic calculations. I worked as a mathematics teacher in my early career. After moving to corporate, I was always associated with the subject in the form of preparing large reports at work, giving private tuition. For a brief period, I also worked as a content developer for a content development company, where I had written lesson plans for mathematics for GCSE level (can produce evidence, if required). I want to work as a mathematics tutor because I have a belief in myself and proven track of pulling weak students to a higher levels of performance. I have always believed that student are not weak in mathematics, its just that their basics are not clear at an early stage of their education. By the time they advance to higher levels in their studies, the subject looks scary to them and students start getting stressed about this subject. Having clear basics and understanding of logic makes this subject really interesting. This is exactly my approach to teach students. With my interaction to students, I try to understand where the students are struggling, their strengths and weaknesses. This helps me to customise my teaching approach which matches their needs and they get maximum support, which evidently helps them to have a better understanding of the subject and results in better performance."
