Approach to Teaching

"I am 21 years old and have a 2:1 Mathematics degree from the University of Sheffield. I have experience in one-on-one mathematics tutoring with all levels within school. Over a sixth month period in 2012, I spent time within a college providing one-on-one help to pupils at GCSE level, AS level and A level. From this time I developed a great familiarity with the current syllabus and learnt the most effective methods of teaching and explaining methods used. Prior to this I had 12 months experience providing GCSE tutoring within a secondary school, as well as experience in Key Stage 3 and two weeks experience in a primary school helping Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils. My style of tutoring is patient and consistent, guiding students to the answer as opposed to giving it to them and building their confidence in their mathematical abilities. "
