Approach to Teaching

"I'm a mother of three teenage sons but have spent much of my tutoring life working with girls who are afraid of maths. My rigorous academic background (1st in EE from UCL in 2004, MRes in 2005) combined with my years of working in the SEN sector provides me with a unique skill set to help turn math-phobes into kids who know how to tackle maths exams. I'm all about strategies and building confidence. I buzz on taking pupils who think they "can't do maths" from panic at the hideous squiggles on the page through to "oh, I can do that !!" I've also sat the QTS tests myself and have tutored several mathematically-terrified girls through these successfully. If you know someone who hates maths, send them to me. I'm a bit off the wall but I'm fun and I get the job done."
