Approach to Teaching

"I specialize in teaching Mathematics and Physics from key stage 2 to 5 and up to a Degree level. I possess a mature and constructive eclectic teaching approach with excellent ability to communicate and have effective working relationships between staff, students and parents. I am a confident and hard working individual. I enjoy using my own initiative in all aspects of academic work, but above all, what inspires me the most, is the satisfaction of getting positive results from my students. I am aware that students and parents are crucial to a responsive student attitude and therefore I am very passionate about building a successful learning environment and meeting the needs of children and school mandates. My Students result are as follow for the last three years. Academic Year: 2014 - 15 14 students (Yr 13, Edx, OCR, MEI, AQA & IB) achieved 'A*' in Core & Further Maths in their A level. 3 students (Yr 13, Edx, OCR, MEI, AQA & IB) achieved 'A' in Core & Further Maths in their A level. 9 students( Yr 12, Edx, OCR, MEI, AQA & IB) achieved 'A' in Core & Further Maths in their AS level. 2 students( Yr 12, Edx, OCR, MEI, AQA & IB) achieved 'B' in Core Maths in their AS level ( sending their papers for remark because they are pretty sure that they did well in the papers). 14 students cracked their UKCAT, MAT, BMAT, GRE,GMAT and SAT (USA). 9 Students achieved grade 'A*' in GCSE and IGCSE Maths. 1 Student achieved grade 'A' in IGCSE Maths. 1 Student achieved grade 'B' in GCSE Maths. 5 students cracked St Alban school entrance exam ( Year 8 Plus). 3 students cracked Merchant Taylor entrance exam ( Year 8 Plus).. 2 students cracked kings school entrance exam ( Year 8 Plus). 2013-2014: 15 students got an A* and 3 got an A in their A level Core Maths. 7 students got an A* in their Further Maths. 12 students got an A*grade and 4 got an A grade in their GCSE Maths."

Rating: 5/5 Peter is a brilliant tutor. He explains concepts very clearly and sets lessons at a pace one is comfortable with. I find him very helpful; the tuitions are engaging with fun facts and some historical context behind the Maths. He really does bring the subject to life! Im preparing for a few graduate medical entrance exams that require a good grounding in A level Maths and he is happy to accommodate to a different style of exam. He sets practice questions at the end of the tuitions and topics I should look into for further reading. I have started to develop a real interest in the subject and am gaining a much better grasp on concepts that previously seemed too complicated or tough. Overall - I highly recommend Peter!
