Approach to Teaching

"I went into teaching by default in 1994, and found I thoroughly enjoy it. The thrill of taking students who have developed a phobia for the subject through to them understanding and excelling in the subject, fulfils me to no end! I have been tutoring out of school since I started my PGCE course. In addition, I now work with adults, teaching them functional skills. I still tutor children preparing them for the 11+ exams from year 3 in English, Maths, Verbal and non-verbal reasoning, to those in year 7-11 for maths GCSE. I am a patient tutor, with excellent communication skills. I have never had to date, any student who has been privately tutored by me, who has failed. I can provide references for you to verify. To me, it's all about being passionate about the subject matter and being able to win the student's trust."
