Approach to Teaching

"I am an experienced tutor and have recently graduated with a MSc at Imperial College to add to a BSc in Physics from Manchester University. I enjoy teaching and inspiring the next generation to excel academically and to love the subjects that they are learning. While academically accomplished, I am also personable and prefer tuition lessons to be fun and interesting, which is when I believe the best learning happens. I specialise in Maths and Physics to all levels, as well as Entrance Exams. Tutoring Experience I have over 3 years tutoring experience, helping a number of students through Maths, Science and Business Studies GCSEs, Maths and Physics A-Levels, as well as a number of University courses. I also have experience teaching younger children in the classroom, and coaching several children through 11+ exams. I am always pleased to see my students learn to enjoy a subject and advance from their current level, and I am proud to state that I have helped students pass 11+ exams and achieve top grades at GCSE and A-Level. But perhaps my proudest moment as a tutor was helping a student, who began with poor Maths skills, pass his GCSE Maths exams with a B grade, which allowed him to advance into a Mechanics Apprenticeship Course. Tutoring Approach It is important to adapt to the needs of the student, and I generally like to instil a deep understanding of a subject, as well as working towards success in specific exams. With Maths and Physics I find it particularly important for students to understand the underlying concepts, and this is where my own deep knowledge of these subjects really helps. I use a range of different teaching techniques to keep students engaged, and I work really hard to make sure that lessons are fun and interesting for both the student and myself, and I find that if students enjoy a subject they advance quickly. Planning is also very important and I will generally work out a complete tuition plan with the stu"
