Approach to Teaching

"I am a qualified teacher who started teaching Mathematics about 19 years ago mainly as a supply teacher covering Mathematics and Electronics. I have also done long term work at Stockport College, mainly with adults. I have completed temp contract at Bolton College and Ashton Sixth Form College and Tameside college Lecturer in GCSE Mathematics at Foundation and Higher groups. I have considerable experience of teaching and assessing school-age and college students and adult learners in colleges. I have been working in secondary schools as a one-to-one mathematics tutor in Key Stage 3 and 4 (GCSE) as well as teaching whole classes at KS3 and KS4 both high ability as well as more challenging students - up to Year 11 GCSE Higher and Foundation courses. I joined MathsTutors4Me 3 years ago, teaching students in the age 8 to 16+, range up to GCSE level mainly on Edexcel and AQA GCSE courses. I can also teach Core 1, 2, 3 and 4 as well as Mechanics 1 and 2. I can also teach some science especially Physics, Chemistry and Biology at GCSE and KS3 as well. I am able to visit students in the Manchester area, or students can come to my home where I have a well-equipped study, complete with text books and computer. I supplement my lessons with the interactive My Maths computer program at home which is a very comprehensive teaching aid. I would like my students to be diligent and enthusiastic and have the ability to gain their trust and respect and with a proven ability to communicate at all levels. I am level headed, calm and positive when under pressure. Excellent communication and organisational skills. I have done online teaching KS3 and GCSE, on Zoom and Google Teams and also an App created by agency for there students."
