Approach to Teaching

"Hello, I am a very approachable receptive tutor and I am very keen to see that my students achieve their maximum potential. I am very passionate about physics and believe this enthusiasm really helps my students to succeed in the subject. I was employed in an Independent school in Berkshire and now an FE college in Cardiff as a physics teacher. The majority of my teaching spent delivering the physics (OCR) and WJEC A level syllabus. I have come into teaching having first had a career in industry. The vast majority of my time table is preparing students for their A level and GCSE physics exams so consequently I am very familiar with the syllabus and the expectations of examiners. I am very keen that the tutees get maximum value for the time spent with me. It is important that I quickly grasp and address any gaps in the students knowledge. My aim then is develop the students confidence by walking through the syllabus and reinforcing the knowledge by attempting appropriate past paper questions. I am currently employed by two of the major exam boards marking and moderating A level scripts. I am therefore very keen to demonstrate to the student good exam technique.
