Approach to Teaching

"I have been teaching Maths to students of KS2, KS3 and GCSE(Foundation and Higher) for last 5 years. I also prepare students for 11+ entry exams (NVR, VR and Maths). As a private tutor, I have a very well-tailored and adaptable approach, and am able to constantly adapt to different students varying range of learning paces and styles. I also ensure that they will get optimum benefit from my tutoring by making sure that they have an excellent core understanding of the subject before proceeding onto other aspects. I strongly believe that practice makes perfect, and I always give my students enough practice to guarantee their success, whilst also teaching them in an interactive, exciting way, constantly taking their ideas and answers - I believe that this will make them more at home with the subject. My tutoring approach is routine and effective. I constantly follow an unvarying procedure - in lessons/sessions, I tend to teach them the core principles of the topic, and then set them the majority of their work for homework. I also ensure that the student understands each unit before moving on to the next one; this will guarantee their success. I also am free and liberal, and have a student-driven style, where I openly take, utilise and integrate their ideas and solutions into my teaching framework. Finally, I have a predilection against travelling, and as such have done all of my past tutoring at home."
