Approach to Teaching

"My name is Fidan and I am a recent Mathematics graduate from Durham University. Mathematics has always been my greatest passion and interest. Throughout the whole time, I have always shown excellence in my mathematical abilities, such as: gained full marks in all core maths modules at A-level, participated in various mathematical competitions, achieved A*’s in both Maths and Further Maths at A-level, as well as graduated with a First Class degree as a Master of Mathematics from Durham University. These successes can be explained not only by the hard work and effort I put in, but also by the enthusiasm I have towards the subject. Having always been fascinated by the beauty of maths, I have always wanted to show other people how magical, intriguing and beautiful it is. As a result, I was often helping my friends and classmates, tutored a few students for Maths A-level exams and volunteered to help Year 7 students with Maths during a whole year. I was also working as a marker during my last year at university: I was marking assignments of second year university students in the subject called ‘Algebra II’. Moreover, after graduating I was tutoring a first year university maths student in 5 modules during the first term. I am now working full time as a Software Engineer and I would be happy to teach A-level Maths students on weekends."
