Approach to Teaching

"My passion is mathematics and I am devoted to helping people develop their ability and confidence within their studies. I am an enthusiastic teacher with a First -Class Honours degree in Mathematics from The Open University and hold Qualified Teacher Status. I have many years experience working in local Industries (steel/chemical/nuclear) working with apprentices at HNC level as well as 5 years teaching maths in secondary schools on Teesside. I have been tutoring for three years in the Teesside area, both at KS3 and GCSE (Foundation and Higher). I have established multiple methods of tackling questions so I can find the best ways for students to not just approach and answer problems but to help with understanding too; I am confident I can find the right way for any student. I have an easy-going manner that puts students at ease and a teaching style that helps my students gain confidence and achieve their maximum potential. Whatever your current grade, I can help you to improve it."
