Approach to Teaching

"Richard has over three years experience tutoring Maths from KS2 through to A-level. Richard has a double BEng/BCom from Birmingham University and an MSc in Environmental Economics from UCL. Richard offers a Maths 'coaching' service, which includes more than just the traditional 'teaching' element of tutoring. Richard views Maths as a skill and as with any skill, the student must put in the practice and gain confidence to progress. Therefore it is critical that: exercises are chosen to challenge the student (but not overawe them), skills are reinforced over time (with intervals) and exercises are kept fun and interesting! To achieve this Richard offers: homework marking between lessons (to keep up momentum), review homeworks at intervals after the topic has been covered and as many different and fun exercises as possible!
