Approach to Teaching

"I profoundly enjoy being around children and would love to be able to teach them. I am excited by the thought of teaching children to read and write; skills that they will use for the rest of their lives. My passion not only includes the improvement and development of young minds, but I find idea of shaping a better generation for tomorrow self rewarding and a privilege. Through my personal, work and volunteer experiences I have recognized that I would be an effective and proficient primary school teacher. My studies have covered a wide range of content involved in teaching. I have a good understanding of core subjects including Mathematics, English and Science and feel that I would be able to convey these subjects to children in a creative, enjoyable and exciting way. I have acquired two years experience teaching in Pakistan as a primary school teacher. In my position I was responsible for planning, preparing and delivering lessons that were enlightening and educational. I monitored the development of individual students as well as communicated with their parents about their progress and also contributed towards major school events. Through this experience I have learned about the different techniques of teaching which were required to both inform and inspire children based upon their learning capabilities. I have also recently gained two weeks experience in Grange Park Primary School where I worked with year 1 and year 2 students. Within this role I assisted in the reading program and sat one on one with students. I was responsible in supervising smaller groups within the classroom to complete set tasks and assist them to complete their assignments within the classroom. I observed how teacher interact with children and adapt different teaching style according to their needs.
