Approach to Teaching

"A reliable, efficient and approachable mathematics teacher with excellent main stream education experience gained within varied practical and development roles. Have experience in key stage 3 and 4 mathematics and with excellent track record of providing a stimulating learning environment. I also have experience in teaching A-level and university (degree) mathematics. Have unique qualities of promoting effective working relation with staff and parents and motivating students to develop interest in mathematics. Experience gained teaching mathematics to diverse pupils from different cultures and backgrounds. My philosophy of teaching is based on the belief that, the best way to learn mathematics is to be physically, emotionally, socially and intellectually involved. That is, the best way to learn mathematics is to learn by doing. These beliefs come from my own experience as a student, mathematics education lecturer and as a researcher in the field of mathematics education. I do belief that, promoting student or learner participation in the teaching-learning process does not happen by chance but involves the creation of stimulating atmosphere within which students or learners can physically, emotionally, socially and intellectually develop and construct their own knowledge."
