Approach to Teaching

"I currently work for a high school in the Calderdale area as a Maths teacher, teaching students from 11 to 18 years old. My previous experience includes working for the Calderdale Pupil Referral Unit, which is a school for young people excluded from mainstream education. Here I taught and offered support in subjects across the curriculum. In what can be an intense atmosphere, our focus was on progressing their education until they were reintegrated back into mainstream school. Since finishing University I have spent time working with children in America and England and now specialise in Maths. I currently have a number of students who I tutor in KS3 and KS4, working towards their various exams. Tutoring Approach: I like to work in a relaxed atmosphere and build a strong working relationship with the young people I teach. I believe 1 on 1 tuition is essential for their academic development and for them to achieve their full potential. I am very flexible in terms of my availability and am prepared to work out around your needs to find a convenient time for the tuition to take place."
