Approach to Teaching

"I am an experienced Maths Tutor qualified to Masters degree level. I also have a 7302 Level 3 Certificate in Delivering Learning. I cover GCSE Maths and am experienced with AQA, Edexcel and OCR boards at Foundation, Higher and Further Maths and I can also provide support for A level. I believe it important to build a strong working relationship with students so as to provide a comfortable and positive learning experience and to promote the greatest motivation and desire to improve. I adopt different teaching models to suit the needs of each pupil, dovetailing with school/college activities to the greatest extent possible . I am also keen to engage with parents to ensure that they are comfortable with approach and progress and are equipped to support the tuition as well as they are able. I am happy to travel to the student's home as I believe this is normally the most comfortable and convenient location for the student and parent, although I can accommodate lessons at my home if needed. I expect to undertake marking and planning outside the lesson at no extra charge, and I am happy to communicate with students, through parents if necessary, to progress work outside the lesson."
