Approach to Teaching

"Currently, I am back living in Brighton finishing off my masters degree. I intend to pursue a PhD in Economics afterwards, with the view of becoming a university professor and teaching full-time. For the last couple of years, I have been helping my younger sister with first her GCSE maths exams and now her A Level maths exams. I have found this to be a most rewarding experience to help her reach her full potential in maths and to see her gain confidence in not just her mathematical abilities, but her general academic abilities. It is for this reason that I am interested in maths tutoring, and it is for this reason that I feel I can help you if you are struggling with maths. Having a degree in maths and completed both A Level maths and further maths, I have a deep understanding of maths. Not only that, but having spent the past six years in what feels like an endless cycle of exams, I have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in one area that many seem to overlook. Namely, learning itself. That is; exam techniques, exam preparation, revision techniques, and learning techniques. These are all crucial to not only gaining the grades that you desire but also to ensuring that you are using your time studying in the most efficient manner possible so that you're not stuck in an endless, soul-crushing, loop of trying to learn but nothing is sticking until you are practically pulling your hair out with frustration at maths. I am calm, patient, and able to explain mathematical concepts in a simple to understand way.
