Approach to Teaching

"Since qualifying as a specialist teacher in Mathematics, my roles include Lead Teacher, Asst. Head of Maths and most recently Head of Mathematics. In school my strengths are guiding students from a D to a C grade. I have found that students who are lacking confidence and understanding in mathematics respond to experienced teachers who can quickly and clearly intervene unlocking the childs potential. I am very happy to visit and teach in the childs home, and provide free online support service 7 days a week. This I find helps a child particularly when they come home from school and have not fully understanding a topic. Within a few minutes speaking and guiding the child they return to school with improved confidence, which over a period time increases their levels and grades. I am considered a good/outstanding teacher by OfSted, Local Authorities and the schools I have worked for. I still practice as a secondary school teacher, specialising in Teaching and Learning. I will be happy to discuss your childs personalised learning needs in mathematics"
