Approach to Teaching

"My name is Oliver and last year I graduated with Masters in Mathematics at the University of Exeter, obtaining a 1st. Since then, I have attempted a PhD but decided it wasn't for me at this time, and so I have decided to broaden my career horizons and therefore consider career in teaching mathematics. I have been a consistent high achiever at school, having received many awards, and getting the highest grades. I am a very flexible tutor who tailors his teaching style to what the student wants, and I am more than happy to teach anything from GCSE maths to undergraduate level mathematics. I feel that learning maths should be a fun and exciting experience and that nobody should be unnecessarily put off of it by unengaging teachers and non-constructive feedback. Recently I have been offered a teacher training placement at Cornwall College and so I will be moving down to Cornwall in early September. This means that I am only available for tutoring before then for the remainder of the summer."
