Approach to Teaching

"I was a teacher in Further Education in London for many years, but left when the ILEA was dissolved. I went back to University to gain better qualifications, but by then was too old (over 50) to be employed, so became a self-employed tutor. I loved this work, and found it very satisfying. Children who had been predicted a grade D in GCSE gained a B after my help. The happy smile with which I was greeted was such a contrast to the classroom attitude."
