Approach to Teaching

"I am married and I have lived in Broadstairs since 2006. I am available on weekends, weekdays and evenings for tutoring in the Broadstairs - Herne bay - Canterbury Sandwich area. My Enhanced DBS Certificate provided and approved. My teaching career started in 1984, when I taught Mathematics and Science to all ages in a High School in South Africa. I became a qualified lecturer in 1987 and taught Mathematics, Physics and Mechanical Engineering to all six levels in a Technical College until 1997, before I emigrated to the UK. I wrote 5 manuscri pts on Mathematics but published only 2 which I used in the Technical College where I was lecturer. I used both textbooks to teach my students on two levels (NTC4 & NTC6). The Mathematics that I taught ranged from and included basic arithmetic, geometry, trigonometry, matrices, differential and integral calculus, as well as advanced differential equations. While I was lecturing, I tutored up to 30 students per week, after hours. This included primary as well as secondary school students. I am capable of tutoring: MATHEMATICS: Primary School Level, Entrance Exam Level, GCSE level, A-Level (C1, C2, C3, C4, S1, S2, D1, D2, FP1, FP2, M1, M2, M3 and IB). SCIENCE & PHYSICS: Primary School Level, Secondary School and A-Level. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT, HTML, Javascri pt, CSS): Secondary School Level, A-level. I believe in laying a firm and solid foundation in the principles of Mathematics, which is possible through good tutoring, repetition, co-operation and understanding the student`s needs.
