Approach to Teaching

"I am an experienced teacher, who received a Natural Science and Education degree from the University of Calgary, in Alberta Canada in 2010. I hold a valid Canadian QTS certificate, and am in the process of attaining my UK QTS number. For the past 3 years, I have worked at Westmount Charter School in Calgary, where I was an active member in both the math and science departments. I helped organize math contests with my colleges, as well as attended the national science teachers association (NSTA) consortium in Indianapolis, Indiana in 2012. I also enjoyed coaching an enthusiastic junior girls volleyball team last year. In addition to my 3 years of maths and science teaching (maths and general science up to key stage 4, physics A levels) I also have extensive tutoring experience. I tutored both mathematics, general science,and higher level physics as I completed my University courses. I have recently moved to London, and am currently supply teaching with Protocol Education. I am enjoying a year of adventure and travel but am missing the one-on-one relationships that can be made with students-- I am hoping to find this tutoring. Teaching and learning are two of my biggest passions. I would love to be able to meet and work with some of the youth in London.
