Approach to Teaching

"My name is Jodie and I thoroughly enjoy my role as a tutor. I find it extremely rewarding working with both children and young adults to help them with subjects and topics they are struggling with. I now have over six years of experience working with both children and young adults both in the UK and Canada and have previously taken part in the Student Associate Scheme with Thomas Telford School. I graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Mathematics with Computing BSc and achieved Grade A* in both Maths and German GCSE. Additionally, I graduated with Distinction in Advanced Chemical Engineering MSc at the University of Birmingham and have recently graduated with Distinction in Nutritional Sciences MSc at the the University of Nottingham. This has also enabled me to register with the Association for Nutrition as an Associate Registered Nutritionist (ANutr). I try to take a holistic approach and I am very flexible and adaptable based on each student's learning styles. Furthermore, I have a friendly, understanding and patient nature, which helps me to work with students of all ages and abilities. Finally, I am passionate about helping students improve their confidence, particularly in Maths, and also try to support students with other areas of their academic curriculum, where possible."
